1. About the service

Kapitel is a digital book platform operated by [COMPANY NAME ApS], CVR no. [CVR-NO], registered at [ADDRESS] (hereafter “we”, “us” or “Kapitel”).

These terms govern your use of kapitel.app and related services.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept the terms, you may not use the service.

We may update the terms. For material changes we will notify you via email or in the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

3. Account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity on your account.
  • We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

4. Use of the service

You may use Kapitel for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Impersonate others or create fake profiles.
  • Upload illegal, abusive or offensive content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users’ accounts.
  • Use the service for spam or commercial advertising without our permission.

5. Content

Content you create (reviews, comments, book club posts, etc.) remains yours. By posting content on Kapitel you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to display the content within the service.

We may remove content that violates the terms or applicable law.

6. Personal data

We process personal data in accordance with our privacy policy and applicable data protection law (GDPR).

You may at any time:

  • Export your data via account settings.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (datatilsynet.dk).

7. Availability

Kapitel is provided “as is”. We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses resulting from downtime or technical errors.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kapitel’s total liability to you is limited to direct damages and shall not exceed DKK 500.

We are not liable for indirect damages, consequential losses or loss of data.

This limitation does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via account settings. Upon deletion your data is anonymized.

We may terminate your account with reasonable notice if you violate these terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes shall be resolved by the Danish courts with the Copenhagen City Court as venue.

If you are a consumer resident in an EU/EEA country, you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence in accordance with applicable consumer protection rules.

You may also file a complaint via the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
